Standardization of state templates

There is currently an ongoing discussion regarding standardization of state templates (primarily regarding layout and styling) atWikipedia talk:WikiProject U.S. states/state templates.An effort was made earlier this year tostandardize Canadian province templates(which mostly succeeded).Lovelac7and I have already begun standardizing all state templates. Kaula

Midway Atoll

SinceMidway Atollis not part of the State of Hawaii and is actually a separate jurisdiction, it should not be included in this US state template. I don't think this is splitting hairs: the State of Hawaii is a political entity, in contrast to the geographic distinction of Hawaiian Island. Thus, as Midway Atoll is under separate administration, it should not be included n the state's template. If this were ageographictemplate for the Hawaiian Islands, we'd want to include. Color

This template has been the default color since 2009, and I see no reason to change it to a different color scheme. The bottom section of an article frequently has several navigation boxes, and using colors other than the default increases the chance of color clashes.
