Template

[edit]

Thanks, whoever came up with the idea for the template for all the McDonaldland characters. I went ahead and modified it to make it look like other pages' templates. I actually copied the code directly from theCheerspage template, only changing the colours to McDonald's colours (if the red and yellow are too much, maybe muted versions of the colours will work better). Yes, please mute the colors!Dread LordCyberSkull✎☠03:34, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, brah. PEACE, I'm OUTIE 5000. Take it sleazy;Wavy G00:01, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I muted the colours a bit, cause the old onesburned my freaking eyeballs out.illspirit|talk20:49, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

FWIW, I came here to compliment whomever thought to make the navbox in McDonald's colors. So there.:-P

Yum Chums

[edit]

Why are these so-called "Yum Chums"listed as part of McDonaldland? Reading the article and following the links show them to be a part of some recent British advertising campaign. The way I see it, these things are completely unrelated. I never even heard of them until reading about them here. They appear to be part of some (fairly) current health food campaign, but what does that have to do with McDonaldland? McDonaldland was an American advertising gimmick that spawned a bunch of characters in the 1970s-1980s. I'm going to remove them from the McDonaldland template, unless anyone objects.Wavy G23:00, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The view, edit, delete and show\hide links are currently in blue, this looks ugly on the red background and makes them difficult too read. I am unsure of how to change them, but if someone could make them a more readable color it would be nice.MinuteElectron18:39, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Colors in template

[edit]

Ouch, that color scheme of red and yellow is painful to look at. What's the benefit of using the ugly McDonald colors?MarsRover19:32, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I changed it to the default infobox colors. If someone actually wants the old colors, it would be better to implement as CSS styles (seeTemplate:Navbox/doc) then with individual<font>tags. --Phirazo(talk)04:48, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
much better.Frietjes(talk)19:27, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Group products items?

[edit]

I would like to suggest that having kiwiburger, a local one-country burger (which may or may not be a variant of another wider spread product), should not be listed on the McD's bottom-of-page navbox along with the widely available international products like the Big Mac, McNuggets or Filet O' Fish. I'd suggest splitting the products section to separate the uncommon ones. I also don't know why TheMcDonald's Deluxe linedeserves a link on this navbox. Are all discontinued products listed in this box or just some? Also, theArch Deluxeis also listed, and that's a product in the Deluxe line.

A Navbox should not be a place where one can find every existing article related to a topic (McD's). Not every product with an article should be in it - only the active, widespread ones. A List of products link would suffice for discontinued or local products.TheHYPO(talk)04:15, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Changes

[edit]

User:Spshurecently made several changes to this template that I disagreed with. I reverted them with a rather poor explanation of simply "RV - Undo". Spshu undid my changes and reverted them again with a more descriptive reason for my revert, and was reverted again. I am asking that he revert his changes and discuss this here. --Jeremy(blah blahI did it!)01:16, 8 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As pointed out on my talk page regarding the intergration of the above group item with the section/group headers: They are duplicate of the group titles. If someone can not understand as the section titles then they will not understand them in the "above" section. So, some how they are no longer about Burger King or McDonald. Basic common sense and is routinely used when possible on all navboxes. This keeps them more compact, makes the section headers more useful and keeps related links together.Spshu(talk)16:24, 8 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
yes, I like the current more compact version better.Frietjes(talk)16:15, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

List of nicknames

[edit]

I just approved theList of nicknames for McDonald'svia AfC, might be worth adding to the template. Regards,Goldsztajn(talk)08:02, 8 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Would put it under "Related" section, as this article showcases a miscellaneous topic in terms of categorizing in McDonald's navbox.Qwertyxp2000(talk|contribs)03:13, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
