The Hill Timesis a Canadian twice-weekly newspaper and daily news website, published inOttawa,Ontario,which covers theParliament of Canada,the federal government, and other federal political news.[1]Founded in 1989 by Ross Dickson and Jim Creskey,[2][3]the editor is Kate Malloy.[4]

The publication featurespoliticalnews items and public policy briefings, lists, surveys, feature stories, profiles, opinion columns, and analysis.

Sister publications

In 1993, Hill Times Publishing launched sister titleOttawa XPress,analternative weekly newspaper,to serve Ottawa audiences.[5]The publication was sold toCommunications Voirin 2001.

In 2004, the owners ofThe Hill Timesalso launchedEmbassy,a separate magazine which covereddiplomaticaffairs.[3]Publication ofEmbassywas discontinued in 2016, with its coverage incorporated into an expandedHill Times.[6]
