The Hotrats(originally theDiamond Hoo Ha Men) were acoverband formed byGaz CoombesandDanny Goffeyas a side-project from their main bandSupergrass.The band were named afterFrank Zappa's albumHot Rats.The duo recorded a set of covers with producerNigel Godrichfor an album entitledTurn Onsin the vein ofDavid Bowie'sPin Upswhich was released in early 2010. They performed a shortUKtour which included theReading and Leeds Festivals.
Since Supergrass announced they were to split, The Hotrats have joined withAirto performThe Virgin Suicideslive for the first time, over several concert dates. So far this has included an appearance at the Théâtre de la Passerelle inSaint-Brieuc,as part of Festival Art Rock 2010.[1][2]
They also recorded a cover of "Under My Thumb"for theScott Pilgrim vs. the Worldmovie, but currently remains unreleased.[3]
