The Museis thesoundtrackfor the filmThe Muse,released by English musicianElton Johnin 1999 throughPolyGram Records.The album is a departure for John, as it mainly contains the orchestrated score for the film, which he wrote in its entirety. The only vocal track is the title track, which was co-written with longtime lyricistBernie Taupin.
It was his third soundtrack following the release ofFriendsin 1971 andThe Lion Kingin 1994. It preceded the Broadway cast version ofElton John and Tim Rice's Aida(2000) although aconcept album(in advance of the show) was released in 1999.
