Thomas William Bramston

T.W. (Thomas William) Bramston(30 October 1796 – 21 May 1871) wasConservativeand Protectionist Member forSouth Essex,1835–1865. He was a trustee of theRoyal Agricultural Society of Englandand a noted cattle breeder at the family estate, Skreens (established byLord Chief JusticeSir John Bramstonin 1635), nearRoxwell, Essex.In 1830 he married Elizabeth Harvey, daughter of AdmiralSir Eliab Harvey Nugent,commander ofHMS Temeraireat theBattle of Trafalgar.[1][2][3]

Their second son wasSir John Bramston,aQueenslandpolitician who was a minister in theHerbertgovernment, Attorney-General in thePalmer Ministry,later Attorney-General in Hong Kong andAssistant Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies.[4]
