Tina Datta(born 27 November 1991)[2]is an Indian actress known for her work inHinditelevision. She rose to fame for playing Ichcha in the drama seriesUttaran.She went on to participate in stunt-based reality showFear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7and reality seriesBigg Boss 16.[3]

Personal life

Datta was born inKolkataon 27 November 1991 to Madhumita Datta and Tapan Datta.[4]She has an elder brother named Debraj.

She's an avid yoga and pilates enthusiast.[5]During thelockdown,she decided to switch her routine from functional weight training to yoga.[6]Additionally, the actress is well versed in pole dancing and kickboxing.[7]

Datta made her debut at the age of five with the showSister Nivedita.[8]A year later, she made her film debut as a child artist with theBengalifilmPita Maata Santan.[9]She went on to act in many Bengali films some of which areDus Number BariandSagarkanya.She has also acted in several Bengali television series one of which beingKhela.Datta starred inRituparno Ghosh's filmChokher BalialongsideAishwarya Rai.[10]She further played young Lalita inVidya BalanandSaif Ali Khan's 2005 cult movieParineeta.[11]Datta auditioned for the role of in Kolkata andPradeep Sarkar,who was looking for a Bengali face to play the role really liked her and said she was perfect for the role.[12]In 2008, she starred in theBengalimythologydrama television seriesDurgawhere she played Kumkum Roy Choudhary.

Breakthrough and recognition (2009–2021)

From 2009 to 2015, Datta starred as Ichcha Bundela and Meethi Bundela oppositeNandish SandhuandMrunal JaininUttaran,thethird longest-running Indian television series of Colors TV.[13]Her performance earned her widespread acclaim and several accolades including theProducers Guild Awardfor Best Actress in a Drama Series.[14]

In 2016, she participated inColors TV's stunt-based reality showFear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7where she finished at the 12th position.[15]From 2017 to 2018, Datta playedDhaminiin themythologydramaKarmaphal Daata Shani.From 2018 to 2019, she portrayed Jhanvi Mourya and Kundani Roy in&TV'sparanormal romancedrama seriesDaayan.[16]

In 2020, she played Ketki Maheshwari oppositeRajeev KhandelwalinZEE5'scrime thrillerweb seriesNaxalbariwhich revolves around anSTFagent who goes on a mission to suppress the revival of aNaxaluprising inGadchiroli.[17]She won the Global Fame Award for Best OTT Debut for her portrayal in the series.[18]In 2021, Datta made her music video debut by starring inMika Singh's Bengali songDurga Maa Elo Re.[19]

From 2022 to 2023, she participated inColors TV's captive reality showBigg Boss 16.[20]She finished at the eighth place after spending 119 days in the house.[21]Datta was the second highest paid contestant of the season.[22]In 2023, she portrayed Surili Ahuja Banerjee inSony TV'sHum Rahe Na Rahe HumoppositeJay Bhanushali.[23]
