Title 46is the portion of theCode of Federal Regulationsthat governs shipping within theUnited Statesfor theUnited States Coast Guard,theUnited States Maritime Administration,and theUnited States Maritime Commission.It is available in digital or printed form.

Title 46 andTitle 33 of the Code of Federal Regulationsare usually consulted byClassification societies,engineeringfirms, deck officers on oceangoing vessels, andmarine engineers.
