TiwanaorTawanais a widespreadPunjabiJat[1][2]clan.

Introduction

Some Tiwana claim to be descended fromJatKingJagadevaPanwar through his direct descendantRai Shankar's son Teo. The lore further states that Teos descendants founded the village of Mataur in what is nowJind districtand from there they spread through the rest ofPunjab.

Tiwana's are popularly referred to as the landlords and are actively participating in theagricultural industryof Pakistan.

Tiwanas are densely populated in the areas ofSargodhaand following the route towardsKhushab(district in Punjab) then acrossJauharabadtoMitha Tiwanawhich then followed byBijar.[3]
