TheToledo Rockets baseball teamis a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of theUniversity of ToledoinToledo, Ohio.[2]The team is a member of theMid-American ConferenceWest division, which is part of theNational Collegiate Athletic Association'sDivision I.Toledo's first baseball team was fielded in 1921. The team plays its home games atScott Park Baseball ComplexinToledo, Ohio.
History
[edit]In 1999,Joe Kruzelbecame the first Toledomanagerto be named the MAC Coach of the Year.Jeremy Griffithswas named the conference's Pitcher of the Year in the same season.[3]
In 2012, the Rockets were the regular season champions of the MAC West division for the first time in their history.[4]
On May 20, 2019,Cory Meestepped down as head coach after 16 seasons.[5]On July 8, 2019,Rob Reinstetlewas hired as head coach.[6]
In 2021, Chris Meyers was named theMid-American Conference Baseball Player of the Year.He was the first player in program history to receive that honor.[7]
