Tracy Grimshaw(born 3 June 1960)[1]is an Australian journalist and television presenter.

Grimshaw is best known for her work with theNine Networkwhere she was the host ofA Current Affairfrom 2006 to 2022 and the co-host ofTodayfrom 1996 until 2005.

Grimshaw returned to the network in 2024 to host a new medical program,Do You Want to Live Forever?[2]

Career[edit]

Grimshaw's career began in 1981 when she joinedNine NewsinMelbourneas a reporter. In 1985 she began presenting news bulletins and by 1987 had been appointed the presenter ofNine Morning News.[3]

Through the early 1990s, Grimshaw reported on overseas events for theNine Network,as well as reporting forA Current Affairand hosting the program over the summer non-ratings period.

In 1995, Grimshaw appeared as co-host ofThe Midday ShowwithDavid Reyne.The following year she was host ofToday on SaturdayandAnimal Hospital.[3]

On 4 November 1996, Grimshaw was appointed the co-host ofTodaywithSteve Liebmann,a position she held for nine years. She finished her role as co-host ofTodayon 23 December 2005 and was replaced byJessica Rowe.

In 2005, Grimshaw played the news reporter character Katie Current in the Australian cinema and DVD release ofShark Tale(the original lines were provided by American journalistKatie Couric).[4]

On 30 January 2006, Grimshaw began presentingA Current Affair,replacingRay Martin.In May 2006, she interviewedBeaconsfield Mine collapsesurvivors Todd Russell and Brant Webb in a special two-hour presentation calledThe Great Escape.[3]Grimshaw was a nominee for theGold Logiein 2018. On 5 September 2022, Grimshaw announced that she would step down as host ofA Current Affairon 24 November 2022 after 17 years.[5]

The Nine Network announced in September 2023 that Grimshaw would be returning to the network in 2024.[6]On 19 January 2024, at a Nine media event inMelbourne,she was announced as the host of a new medical series,Do You Want to Live Forever?,alongside medical expertNick Coatsworth,[2]which premiered on 17 June 2024.[7]

Personal life[edit]

Grimshaw grew up inGreensborough, Victoria.[8]On 7 May 2015, she was involved in a horse riding accident believed to have been at her property in Sydney's north-western suburbs. She was airlifted toWestmead Hospital.[9]
