Turpo(fromQuechuaT'urpu,meaning "pointed" ) is one of the nineteendistrictsof theAndahuaylas ProvinceinPeru.[1]
Geography
[edit]It is elevated at 3,297 m above sea level.[2]One of the highest peaks of the district is Pisti at approximately 4,200 m (13,800 ft). Other mountains are listed below:[3]

Ethnic groups
[edit]The people in the district are mainlyindigenouscitizens ofQuechuadescent.Quechuais the language which the majority of the population (95.22%) learnt to speak in childhood, 4.57% of the residents started speaking using theSpanishlanguage (2007 Peru Census).[4]
