Tyler David(born March 1, 1994) is an American professionalsoccerplayer who plays as adefenderforMinneapolis City SCinUSL League Twoand theNational Premier Soccer League.David is also the coach for the Marcy-Holmes Rangers in the Minneapolis City SC Futures League.

Career

Amateur

From 2007 to 2011, David played for the Minnesota Thunder in theUnited States Soccer Development Academy,captaining the team all five years.[1][2]

David played four years ofcollege socceratSaint Louis Universitybetween 2012 and 2015, and was named to theAtlantic 10's All-Conference First Team in his senior season.[1]

Professional

David was drafted in the fourth round (76th overall) of the2016 MLS SuperDraftbyVancouver Whitecaps FC.[2]Released by the Whitecaps during training camp without a contract, he then signed withUSLsideSaint Louis FCon March 6, 2016.[3]David made his debut with the club on March 26, appearing as a substitute in a match against theReal Monarchs.[4]

After a season in Finland withKakkonenclubBK-46,David returned to the United States to join USL Championship sideHartford Athleticahead of their inaugural season.[5]

On February 17, 2020, David moved toUSL League OnesideUnion Omahaahead of their inaugural season as a club.[6]He was released by Omaha following their 2020 season.[7]

David returned to Minnesota in 2022 to play forMinneapolis City SCand to coach the Marcy-Holmes Rangers in their Futures League.[8]On April 18, 2022, David was voted Futures League Mentor Coach of the Year for leading the Rangers to the championship match.[9]
