A welterweight bout between formerUFC Welterweight ChampionshipchallengerStephen ThompsonandKevin Hollandheadlined the event.[4]

Yazmin Jaureguiand Istela Nunes met in a women's strawweight bout.[5]They were originally booked to fight atUFC on ESPN: Vera vs. Cruzfour months earlier, but Nunes withdrew due to injury.[6]

A middleweight bout betweenJack HermanssonandDerek Brunsonwas expected to take place at the event.[7]However, Brunson withdrew due to an undisclosed injury and was replaced byRoman Dolidze.[8]

A women's flyweight bout betweenTracy CortezandAmanda Ribaswas expected to take place at the event.[9]However, shortly after the official weigh-ins, the promotion announced Cortez was pulled from the bout due to an unspecified medical issue and the bout was cancelled.[10]

At the weigh-ins,Philip Roweweighed in at 173.5 pounds, two and a half pounds over the welterweight non-title fight limit. His bout proceeded at catchweight and he was fined 30% of his purse, which went to his opponentNiko Price.[11]
