History

It was used in Switzerland (Bernese Time) until the adoption ofCentral European Timein 1894.[1]

Known asSandringham time,an offset of 30 minutes from GMT was used by the British royal household at theNorfolkestateSandringham.This was stopped in 1936.[2]

TheBritish Gold Coastbriefly observed the offset as standard time between 1942 and 1945,[3][4]and asdaylight saving timebetween 1950 and 1956.[5]
