Umurata[2]is a mountain in theAndes,about 5,717 m (18,757 ft) high, situated in theCordillera Occidentalon the border ofBoliviaandChile.It is located in theArica and Parinacota RegionofChileand in theOruro DepartmentofBolivia,in theSajama Province,Turku Municipality,Chachakumani Canton. Umurata lies south of theUqi Uqinivolcano, north of theAcotangoand north-east of theWallatirivolcano.[3]Argon-argon datinghas yielded ages of 970,000±120,000 for Umurata rocks.[4]Umurata is situated south of National Route 4 near theChungara-Tambo Quemadopass.
