Laualoha is from the Windward side of the island of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi. She is a mother, writer, peacemaker and cultural practitioner, and holds a Masterʻs degree in Public Health. She has worked in the Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian) movement for 20 years (or longer if you count her childhood in Kahaluʻu during the 70ʻs struggles on that side), although she is not affiliated with any one group or political identity. She also has strong interests in music, logic, ethnobotany of all kinds, nutrition, indigenous farming, art, folktales, videography, conflict resolution, and peace.
