Victor Sterpu(born 14 June 1999)[1]is aMoldovanjudoka.He won the gold medal in themen's 73 kgevent at the2020 European Judo Championshipsheld in Prague, Czech Republic.[2][3]In July 2021, he competed in themen's 73 kgevent at the2020 Summer Olympicsin Tokyo, Japan.[4]

Career

He competed in themen's 73 kgevent at the2018 World Judo Championshipsheld in Baku, Azerbaijan. In that same year, he won one of the bronze medals in the men's 73 kg event at the2018 Judo Grand Prix The Hagueheld in The Hague, Netherlands. The following year, he competed in themen's 73 kgevent at the2019 World Judo Championshipsheld in Tokyo, Japan.

In 2019, herepresented Moldovaat theEuropean Gamesheld in Minsk, Belarus. He competed in themen's 73 kgevent and he was eliminated in his first match.

In 2021, he competed in the men's 73 kg event at theJudo World Mastersheld in Doha, Qatar.[5]He also competed in themen's 73 kgevent at the2021 World Judo Championshipsheld in Budapest, Hungary where he was eliminated in his second match bySulaiman Hamadof Saudi Arabia.
