Virgiliu Postolachi(born 17 March 2000) is a Moldovan professionalfootballerwho plays as aforwardforLiga IclubCFR Clujand theMoldova national team.

Club career

A youth academy product ofParis Saint-Germain,Postolachi joinedLilleon 18 July 2019. He signed a four-year deal withLes Doguesand was initially assigned to the reserve side of club.[1]

Postolachi joined Belgian clubMouscronprior to2020–21 season.[2]He made his professional debut on 8 August 2020 in a 1–1 draw againstAntwerp.[3]On 31 January 2021, Postolachi was loaned out toDanish 1st DivisionclubVendsysselfor the rest of the season.[4]

On 20 July 2022, Romanian clubUTA Aradannounced the signing of Postolachi on a two-year deal.[5]

On 22 July 2023,Ligue 2clubGrenobleannounced the signing of Postolachi on a three-year deal until June 2026.[6]On 30 September 2023, he scored his first goal in a 2–0 win againstBordeaux.[7]

On 25 July 2024, Postolachi joined Romanian clubCFR Cluj.[8]

International career

Postolachi previously rejected call-ups fromMoldova national teamin the past.[9][10]Romaniahave tried to make him part of their national team setup, but didn't receive permission fromUEFAandFIFA.[11]

In January 2021, Postolachi joined training camp ofMoldova under-21 teamand played in a friendly againstSfîntul Gheorghe.[12]He made his senior debut on 25 March 2021 in a 1–1 draw againstFaroe Islands.[13]

Personal life

Born in Moldova, Postolachi moved to France at the age of two.[14]He holds Moldovan, French and Romanian citizenship.[9]
