WPOL runs the Get Up! Mornings with Erica Campbellnationally syndicatedmorning show as well as other syndicated and local gospel and religious shows aimed at theAfrican-Americancommunity.
History
[edit]WAIR first signed on the air on March 25, 1937[3]at 1250 AM with 250 watts during the day The tower was on North Cherry Street. Later the signal was increased to 1000 watts during the day.[4]
In the 1970s, WAIR aired anUrban contemporaryformat. In March 1985, WAIR was a simulcast ofTop 40WSEZ at 93.1 FM (nowWPAW) one-third of the time, though a billboard on Interstate 40 suggested WSEZ was broadcasting both on 1340 and 93.1.[5]Later it was three-fourths urban and one-fourth a simulcast ofalbum rockon WSEZ.[6]
The WKEW simulcast began at the end of 2000.[7]
