WanliuArea(simplified Chinese:Vạn liễu địa khu;traditional Chinese:Vạn liễu địa khu;pinyin:Wànliǔ Dìqū), orHaidian Town(simplified Chinese:Hải điến trấn;traditional Chinese:Hải điến trấn;pinyin:Hǎidiàn Zhèn), formerlyHaidian Township(simplified Chinese:Hải điến hương;traditional Chinese:Hải điến hương;pinyin:Hǎidiàn Xiāng) is atown,more precisely area, ofHaidian District,Beijing,[1]located immediately to the east ofKunming Lake.As of 2020, it had a total population of 2,022,[2]making a drastic decline from 2010's population of 28,062[3]due to the demolition of Liulangzhuang village within the township.
