The first recorded venture through White Man Pass made by people of European descent was in 1801, when explorerDuncan McGillivrayandDavid Thompsoncross the Rockies through it.[2]The pass was used byJames Sinclairto lead settlers intoRed River Colonyin 1841.[3][4]
