Scope[edit]This task force covers much of the military history of thepost-Soviet statesand territories formerly part of theSoviet Unionand theRussian Empire. It covers twelve Soviet successor statesArmenia,Azerbaijan,Belarus,Georgia,Kazakhstan,Kyrgyzstan,Moldova,theRussian Federation,Tajikistan,Turkmenistan,Ukraine,andUzbekistan,and also the nearby state ofMongolia. However, the military affairs in the area of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are the subject of theBaltic states military history task force,Finland’s military history is covered by theNordic military history task force,and Poland’s military history has thePolish military history task force.
