William Hardy(born January 21, 1988)[1]is an American professionalbasketballcoach and former collegiate player who is thehead coachfor theUtah Jazzof theNational Basketball Association(NBA).

After graduating fromWilliams College,Hardy was connected withSan Antonio Spurshead coachGregg Popovichthrough a member of the basketball staff at Williams College who was an associate of Popovich and recommended him for an internship thanks to his high basketball IQ.[2]Hardy coached the Spurs Summer League team for several years while working in other roles for the main team.[3]Before the2021–22 NBA season,Hardy joined theBoston Celticsas assistant for head coachIme Udoka.[4]

Utah Jazz

On June 29, 2022, theUtah Jazzhired Hardy as their head coach,[5]making him the first head coach hired under the new ownership ofRyan Smith.[6]
