Geography
[edit]Witmer is in central Lancaster County, in the eastern part of East Lampeter Township. It is bordered to the south bySmoketownand to the northeast byUpper Leacock Township.It is 0.6 miles (1.0 km) north ofPennsylvania Route 340and 6 miles (10 km) east ofLancaster,thecounty seat.
According to theU.S. Census Bureau,the Witmer CDP has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.2 km2), of which 0.9 acres (3,811 m2), or 0.12%, are water.[1]The community drains west to Stauffer Run and east toMill Creek,both tributaries of theConestoga River,flowing southwest to theSusquehanna.
