X Input Method

TheX Input Method(orXIM) was the originalinput methodframework for theX Window System.[1]

It predatesIBus,Fcitx,SCIM,uimandIIIMF.The specification[2]is published most recently in 1994 by (and copyright held by) theX Consortium.Although rarely used today, XIM is historically notable and has been supported in the enterprise products ofIBM[3]andOracle.[4]
