Yousry Nasrallah(Arabic:يسرى نصر اللهpronounced[ˈjosɾinɑsˤˈɾɑllɑ]) (born 26 July 1952) is an Egyptianfilm director.
Biography
[edit]Nasrallah was born to aCoptic Christianfamily inCairo.He graduated ineconomicsandpolitical scienceatCairo University.Following, he worked as afilm criticand directing assistant inBeirutfrom 1978 to 1982. He became assistant toYoussef Chahinewhose company Misr International would go on to produce his films. Nasrallah's works have dealt with themes ofleftism,Islamic fundamentalism,andexpatriation.
His 2012 filmAfter the Battlecompeted for thePalme d'Orat the2012 Cannes Film Festival.[1][2]
