Zabdicene

Zabdicene(Armenian:Ծաւդէք or Զաւդէք,romanized:Tsawdēk' or Zawdēk';Greek:Ζαβδικηνή,romanized:Zavdikene;Latin:Zabdiccena;Classical Syriac:Zawdai) was aCarduchian[1]principality inAnatolia,in today'sTurkey.It was located west ofAke,southwest ofAnjewaciand north ofAdiabene.

BezabdeandPhinika(Pinaka, Finik, Φοινίκη inGreek) were located in Zabdicene.[2]In 363,Zabdicene and its cities and fortresses were ceded to theSasanian Empire.[2]The principality declined by the mid-fifth century. SaintBabai the Greatwas born in the village of Beth Ainata in the region in 551.
