Astylar

Astylar(from Gr.ἀ-,privative, andστῦλος,a column) is anarchitecturalterm given to design which uses neithercolumnsnorpilastersfor decorative purposes; thus theRiccardiandStrozzipalaces inFlorenceareastylarin their design, as opposed toPalladio's palaces atVicenza,which arecolumnar.[1]
