Brenton Awais an American politician serving as a member of theHawaii Senatefor the 23rd district. He assumed office on November 8, 2022.

Early life and education

Awa was born inKaʻaʻawa, Hawaii,and graduated fromKahuku High & Intermediate Schoolin 2004.[2]He isNative Hawaiianand attendedClarion Universitywith a grant fromKamehameha Schools.[1]

Career

Prior to entering politics, Awa was a news anchor forKITV.[3]Three years after joining KITV, he became the anchor ofGood Morning Hawaii.[4]Awa was elected to theHawaii Senatein November 2022.[5][6]
