Cletus Josiah "Red" Clinker(January 6, 1911 – January 12, 1979) was anAmerican footballplayer and coach. He served as the head football coach at theUniversity of South Dakotain 1942, compiling a record of 5–3.[1]After one season at the helm, Clinker reported for duty at theU. S. Navy Pre-Flight SchoolinChapel Hill, North Carolina.[2]He died on January 12, 1979, inWalnut Creek, California.[3]
