Hysmon
Hysmon(Greek:Ὕσμων) was anAncient Greekpentathlete fromElis.
As a boy, he began to practise thepentathlonas a cure forrheumatism.He won this contest once in theOlympic gamesand once in theNemean games,but was excluded from theIsthmian gamesas an Eleian. He also competed in thepankration,and won an Olympic victory in this event. His statue in theAltisatOlympia,representing him as holding old-fashionedhalteres,was the work ofCleon.[1]
