Louise Armstrong(March 17, 1937 – August 10, 2008)[1]was a published author of numerous adult and children books. A staunchfeministand activist, Armstrong had spoken widely for two decades in theUnited States,Canada,andEngland,on the subjects ofchild abuse,incest,family violence,andsexual abuse.Her book,Kiss Daddy Goodnight,published byPocket Booksin 1978, is a groundbreaking work on incest.[1][2]
Armstrong was faculty of theInstitute of Children's Literatureand chaired a committee on family violence for theNational Women's Health Network(1979–84).[2]Armstrong also wrote for magazines, includingWoman's DayandConnecticut Magazine,On the Issues.[citation needed]
Her son isEmmy Award-winning television producer and filmmakerNoah Hawley.[1]
