Marcello Hernández(born August 19, 1997)[1][2]is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He joined the cast of theNBCsketch comedyseriesSaturday Night Liveas a featured player before the start of the show's48th seasonin 2022.[3]
Early life
[edit]Marcello André Hernández grew up inMiami,Florida, where he attendedBelen Jesuit Preparatory School.He graduated fromJohn Carroll Universityin 2019 with a degree in Entrepreneurship and Communication.[4]He is ofCubandescent on his mother's side andDominicandescent on his father's side.[5]
Career
[edit]Hernández did comedy and performed short-form pieces on social media channels, such as the weekly review showOnly in Dadeabout his home of Miami, Florida, onTikTok.[6]
He moved to New York City in 2019 to pursue his stand-up career.[7]In 2022, he was selected forJust for LaughsNew Face of Comedy.[8][9]
In 2022, he joined the cast ofSaturday Night Live,becoming the show's first cast member fromGeneration Z.[10]
