NGC 665is aLenticular galaxy236 millionlight-yearsaway in theconstellation Pisces.[2]NGC 665 was discovered in 1786 byWilliam Herschel,and is 100,000 light-years across.[2]In the center of NGC 665, a small halo of dust and gas can be seen, indicating some smallstar-forming regions.[2]NGC 665 is not known to have anactive galactic nuclei,as seen in the SDSS image.[1]

Like other galaxies, NGC 665 has asatellite galaxy(MCG 02-05-022),[3]adwarf elliptical galaxy,as seen in the SDSS image of NGC 665.[2]Its nearby cluster of stars isNGC 663.
