Thesespecieswere at one time placed inGarrulaxbut following the publication of amolecular phylogeneticstudy in 2018,Garrulaxwas split up and some of the species were moved to the resurrected genusPterorhinus. At the same time, the four species previously placed inBabaxwere moved here.[3][4]
