Tyler Guyton(born June 11, 2002) is an American professionalfootballoffensive tacklefor theDallas Cowboysof theNational Football League(NFL). He playedcollege footballfor theTCU Horned FrogsandOklahoma Sooners.Guyton was drafted by the Cowboys in the first round of the2024 NFL draft.

Early life

Guyton was born on June 11, 2001, inManor, Texas.He attended Manor High School and played football and basketball.[1]He played mainly as adefensive linemanfor Manor and helped them reach the state quarterfinaln while being a second-team All-District 11-5A selection. Ranked by247Sportsas a three-star recruit and the 145th-best player fromTexas,Guyton ultimately committed to playcollege footballfor theTCU Horned Frogs.[2]

College career

As a truefreshmanat TCU in 2020, Guytonredshirted,seeing action in only one game.[3]In 2021, he appeared in eight games, one as a starter, while splitting time between being a backupoffensive linemanandH-back.[4][5]He caught atouchdownpass in a game againstIowa State.[6][7]In January 2022, Guyton transferred to theUniversity of Oklahomato play for theOklahoma Sooners.[8]

In his first season for the Sooners, Guyton began the season as aleft tacklewhile switching toright tackleby the end of it.[9]He appeared on a total of 400 snaps and allowed only twosacksand noquarterbackhits.[10]

WithWanya MorrisandAnton Harrisonleaving for theNational Football League Draftin 2023, Guyton was placed in a starting role at right tackle to begin the 2023 season.[10][11][12]He declared for the2024 NFL draftfollowing the season, where he was viewed as a potential first-round selection.[13]
