William Dundas(1762–1845) was aScottishpolitician.
The son ofRobert Dundas, of Arniston, the younger,he became a barrister atLincoln's Innin 1788. He wasa member of parliament(MP) for theAnstruther Burghsfrom 1794 to1796,for theNorthern Burghsfrom 1796 to 1802, forSutherlandin 1802 and 1806, forCullenin 1810 andEdinburghfrom 1812 to 1831.
He was appointed aPrivy Counsellorin 1800 and wasSecretary at Warfrom 1804 to 1806. He was aLord Commissioner of the Admiraltyin 1812. He was appointedKeeper of the Signetin 1814, andLord Clerk Registerin 1821
