The1864 United States presidential election in Michigantook place on November 8, 1864, as part of the1864 United States presidential election.Voters chose eight[1]representatives, or electors, to theElectoral College,who voted forpresidentandvice president.[2]
Michiganwas won byNational Unioncandidate, incumbentRepublicanpresidentAbraham Lincolnand his running mateAndrew Johnson.They defeated theDemocraticchallengerGeorge B. McClellanand his running mateGeorge H. Pendleton.Lincoln won the state by a margin of 7.2%.[2]
As of the2020 presidential election[update],this is the last timeOttawa Countyvoted for a Democratic presidential candidate.[3]
