The1874 Arkansas gubernatorial electionwas held on 13 October 1874, in order to elect theGovernor of Arkansas.Democraticnominee and formerConfederate States SenatorfromArkansasAugustus H. Garlandwon the election as he ran unopposed.[1]
General election[edit]
On election day, 13 October 1874,DemocraticnomineeAugustus H. Garlandwon the election with 76,552 votes as he ran unopposed, thereby gaining Democratic control over the office of Governor. Garland was sworn in as the 11th Governor ofArkansason 12 November 1874.[2]
