The1920 Arkansas gubernatorial electionwas held on 2 November 1920, in order to elect theGovernor of Arkansas.Democraticnominee and former member of theU.S. House of RepresentativesfromArkansas's 3rd districtThomas Chipman McRaedefeatedRepublicannomineeWallace Townsend.[1]

The Democraticprimary electionwas held on 10 August 1920. Former member of theU.S. House of RepresentativesfromArkansas's 3rd districtThomas Chipman McRaereceived a majority of the votes (26.93%), and was thus elected as the nominee for the general election on 2 November 1920.

On election day, 2 November 1920,DemocraticnomineeThomas Chipman McRaewon the election by a margin of 77,287 votes against his foremost opponentRepublicannomineeWallace Townsend,thereby retaining Democratic control over the office of Governor. McRae was sworn in as the 26th Governor ofArkansason 12 January 1921.[3]
