The1972 Limerick Senior Hurling Championshipwas the 78th staging of theLimerick Senior Hurling Championshipsince its establishment by theLimerick County Boardin 1887.

Claughaunwere thedefending champions.

On 10 December 1972,South Libertieswon the championship after a 4–08 to 1–05 defeat ofPatrickswellin the final.[1]It was their fourth championship title overall and their first championship title since1890.
