The1976 Gillette Cupwas the fourteenthGillette Cup,an Englishlimited overscounty crickettournament. It was held between 26 June and 4 September 1976.[1]The tournament was won byNorthamptonshire County Cricket Clubwho defeatedLancashire County Cricket Clubby 4 wickets in the final atLord's.

Format

The seventeenfirst-classcounties, were joined by fiveMinor Counties:Berkshire,Hertfordshire,Lincolnshire,ShropshireandStaffordshire.Teams who won in the first round progressed to the second round. The winners in the second round then progressed to the quarter-final stage. Winners from the quarter-finals then progressed to the semi-finals from which the winners then went on to the final atLord'swhich was held on 4 September 1976.
