The1986 FIBA World Championshipwas the 10thFIBA World Championship,the internationalbasketballworld championship for men's national teams. It was hosted bySpainand was held from 5 to 20 July 1986. The final phase of the tournament was held at thePalacio de Deportes de la Comunidad,Madrid.[1]They were classified as the official men's basketball event of the1986 Goodwill Games,held simultaneously inMoscow.This was the final tournament forWest Germany,which did not participate in thenext tournamentprior to itsunification with East Germany.
