The1998 NCAA Division I-AA football season,part ofcollege footballin the United States organized by theNational Collegiate Athletic Association(NCAA) at theDivision I-AAlevel, began in August 1998, and concluded with the1998 NCAA Division I-AA Football Championship Gameon December 19, 1998, atFinley StadiuminChattanooga, Tennessee.TheUMass Minutemenwon their first I-AA championship, defeating theGeorgia Southern Eaglesby a score of 55−43.[1]
