2025 NASCAR Cup Series

The2025 NASCAR Cup Serieswill be the 77th season forNASCARprofessional stock car racing in the United States and the 54th season for the modern-eraCup Series.The season will start with theBusch Clashon February 2 atBowman Gray Stadium,followed by theBluegreen Vacations Duelon February 13, and the 67th running of theDaytona 500(the first points race of the season) on February 16, both atDaytona International Speedway.The season will end with theNASCAR Cup Series Championship RaceatPhoenix Racewayon November 2.

The 2025 season will be the first year under NASCAR's new TV deal that will take place until 2031.FOXwill broadcast 12 races,[a]whileNBCwill broadcast 14 races.AmazonandTNTwill broadcast five races each.[1]In addition, the season will mark the debut of NASCAR'sin-season tournament.[2]

This will be the first season withoutTony Stewart's ownership ofStewart–Haas Racing,[3]Gene Haas,the other co-owner of SHR, announced he would retain the team and rebrand it asHaas Factory Teamfor 2025.[4]This will also be the first season without2017 championMartin Truex Jr.as a full-time driver, as he announced his retirement from full-time racing on June 14, 2024.[5]

  • Under the proposed terms of the charter agreement between NASCAR and the race teams, a provision would limit the number of charters to three per team. The exception would beHendrick MotorsportsandJoe Gibbs Racing,as each has four charters and would be grandfathered in the proposed deal.[49]In addition, theFrance familywould be allowed to buy charters starting in 2025.[50]
  • Andretti Globalhas shown interest in expanding its operations into the Cup Series.[51]

  • NASCAR is reportedly looking for a fifth premier partner for the Cup Series alongsideBusch Beer,Coca-Cola,GEICO,andXfinity,in case one of the first four partners does not renew its partnership deal.[54]

Schedule

The 2025 schedule was released on August 29, 2024 and consists of 30 oval races, 5 road course races, one street track race, and 4 non-championship races to be held on ovals.[55]
