Agawmeder

Agawmeder(Amharic:አገው ምድር) was a historical state and region in the northwestern part ofEthiopia.Its most likely etymology is fromAgew(አገው ägäw), a people living in the area, plusmeder(land), thus meaning "Land of the Agaw".[1]The western neighbor ofGojjam,it was located where theAgew Awi Zonenow lies.

Not much is known about Agawmeder, as much of its existence was marked by Ethiopian isolation from the remainder of the world.[2]
