Alex Gansais a screenwriter and producer. He co-developed the Showtime seriesHomelandwithHoward GordonandGideon Raff.He was also one of the series' executive producers and showrunners.
Gansa produced and wrote a number of scripts for theBeauty and the Beasttelevision series. Previously he worked as a writer and supervising producer onThe X-Filesin its first two seasons, and onDawson's Creekin its third season. After that he was involved with the short-lived seriesWolf Lake,a series focusing on a group ofwerewolvesin North West America, as an executive producer and a writer. Gansa was also involved in the TV seriesNumb3rsand HBO'sEntourage.
More recently[when?]he joined the writing crew of24for itsseventh season.[1]Gansa is also one of the co-creators and showrunner ofHomeland,a 2011 series for Showtime.[2]
In 2012, he was nominated and won aPrimetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Seriesfor writing the "Pilot"ofHomeland,also winning an Emmy forBest Drama Series.[3]
