Ali Akbar Isfahani(Persian:علی اکبر معمار اصفهانی) was a 17th-centuryPersianarchitectof theSafavid era.[1]He is best known for theShah Mosquecommissioned byShah Abbasand built in 1611–1631.[2]His name appears in an inscription in the mosque above the doorway of the entranceiwancomplex of the mosque.[3]

Isfahani was born in 985 AH (1577 AD). He was a pupil ofBadi' al-Zaman Yazdi,the grand architect ofShah Abbas.[1]
