Irwin Allan Sealy(born 1951) is an Indian writer. His novelThe Everest Hotel: A Calendarwas shortlisted for the 1998Booker prize.[1]

Biography[edit]

Allan was born inAllahabadand he went toLa Martiniere Schoolin Lucknow and then on toSt. Stephen's College, Delhi University.[2]He has worked in Canada, the USA, New Zealand and Australia.[citation needed]

His first novelThe Trotter Namawas published in 1988 and tells the story of seven generations of an Anglo-Indian family.[3]

He now lives inDehradun,Uttarakhand.[citation needed]
